As Bombay sheds the old for the new, there is a lot that is undergoing a metamorphosis and a lot that might be lost forever. Before the physical personality of this metropolis changes irrevocably, the “Vanishing Bombay” group wants to capture the city in transition.

We propose a number of activities, including gathering information on the lost heritage, conducting photo walks, generally documenting the city and bringing about awareness among the people of Mumbai as to what the loss of heritage means to the future generations. We also plan to hold seminars, organize exhibitions and show films to share and spread our passion for the city that was and will be. 

"Vanishing Bombay ~ Documenting the heritage of Mumbai" invites all those who care to take part in this people's chronicle of a city in transition.
